The building is ADA accessible and there is a baby changing table in the women’s bathroom.
Admission is free.
April 1 – October 31:
Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays 1-5 p.m.
November 1 – March 31:
Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday-Sunday 1-5 p.m. The museum is closed all U. S. Federal Holidays.

Members receive a discount of 10% off in the museum gift shop as well as a regular newsletter. Memberships are $10/person per year and renew in November.
To arrange for a school field trip, please fill out this form. We request that field trips be arranged 48 hours in advance.
Parking available on the street. There is a bike rack in front of the main door.
Photography is allowed, but flash photography is prohibited. Please tag #cartercountymuseum when posting photos on social media.
Registered Service Dogs are welcome while wearing the appropriate service vest or identifier, otherwise pets (including emotional support animals) are not allowed in the museum.
Smoking and food are prohibited in the building. No alcohol. Water or other non-alcoholic beverage with a lid are allowed.
WiFi is not publicly available at the museum.
