Junior Scientist Summer Program

Join us at the museum Monday-Thursday from 10 - Noon beginning June 17, 2024 to explore subjects including astronomy, paleontology, local history, and more! These hands-on activities take place at the Central Schoolhouse at the Carter County Museum with pop-up activities on rainy days in the afternoon.

The June and July 2024 schedules are detailed at the bottom of the page. Please contact our Museum Educator, Hannah Bradford, at hbradford@cartercountymuseum.org with any questions. August schedule to be announced.

Pop up programs last 30 minutes and occur between 1-4:30 p.m. at the museum on rainy week days on select dates:

June 28 - Native Games SCIFriday

10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Join Pat Rouane, Certified Instructor, for a morning of indigenous games at Carter County Museum. Includes a make your own game craft.

July 26 - Sister Museum SCIFriday with Museum of the Rockies

1 - 3 p.m.

Join us for our annual Sister Museum SCIFriday with Museum of the Rockies! Part of the 12th Annual Dino Shindig festivities, this event will include a paleontology lecture by Ashley Hall, Outreach Program Manager at MOR, and an activity led by Hannah Bradford, CCM Museum Educator.

August 9 - Fairgrounds SCIFriday, 1 - 3 p.m.

Takes place at the Carter County Fairgrounds after the pet parade. Activities include Dinosaur Ice Cream and more!
